Britain has invaded 90% of the world's countries - map

The phrase "the empire on which the sun never sets" was originally used for the Spanish Empire (in the 16th and 17th centuries) and later for the British Empire in the 19th and 20th centuries, but there is one thing which Britain has exclusive rights on it: it has invaded nine out of 10 of world's nations, that 90% of the world's countries.

This means that of almost 200 countries, only 22 have never experienced a British invasion. Below is a map of these countries.

This number has come out of a study published in All the Countries We’ve Ever Invaded: And the Few We Never Got Round To. The study also shows that at its height the Empire ruled over almost a quarter of the world’s population.
